Counselors/Staff

Join our staff community!

We are looking forward to our next fantastic summer in 2025!

At the heart of Camp Indigo Point is our incredible staff. The staff of Indigo Point help create and foster a safe, welcoming, fun, and exuberant environment for our campers all while knowing that the camp experience forges friendships, opens up minds, and creates lasting memories that extends beyond just our campers to our staff as well.

Join our team in these positions:
SPECIALISTS (18+ years old or older/ high school graduate)

Specialists spend the majority of their day in one of our many activity areas around camp. These staff create activity-area curriculum and ensure the safe management of their area. They provide skill-based learning specific to the activity and age group they are leading. From lifeguards/swim instructors to ropes-course facilitators to drama or arts and crafts instructors, staff who have expertise skills to share and teach our campers should apply to be a Specialist. Specialists are also attached to a bunk and participate fully in the life of the campers and leading as a counselor when not leading daily activity periods.

COUNSELORS (18+ years old or older/ high school graduate)

Counselors move through the camp day along with their cabin group and enjoy the same activities as the campers. They provide individualized support to the campers in their care and help those youth develop healthy social skills. Our counselors contribute to participating in leading bunk activities as well as all camp programming or evening programming. Our counselors’ enthusiasm for being at camp and knack for creating special moments for their bunk makes camp the memorable experience it is.

UNIT HEADS (21+ years old and older)

Unit Heads supervise our camper units and are part of our senior staff. These positions are filled by individuals who have expert experience in mentoring individuals into leadership and problem-solving roles, experience working with young adults as well as youth, and who have past experience working in a residential camp or similar environment. They create age-appropriate programming and support their unit’s staff in working with the campers. Unit Heads are key problem solvers and camper advocates who make sure campers are learning healthy social skills that will aid them for life.

Counselors and Activity Specialists at Camp Indio Point will live in yurts with 12-14 campers. Yurts are equipped with bunk beds, electricity, wooden shelving, open widows (with rain flaps), and a ceiling vent (fan). Living in a yurt with campers is the primary responsibility of all counselors and specialists to ensure safety, comfort, and community to our campers.

We are seeking counselors and staff interested and experienced in being counselors, activity area specialists (experts in the area), certified lifeguards, licensed boat drivers, and ropes course specialists.

Once you have applied, you will be contacted by camp to set up an interview. All communication will be done through the email address or phone number you list on the application. If you are offered a position at camp, you will receive information about the documents that need to be completed and how to submit them.

If you have any questions along the way, please feel free to reach out to Shira@campindigopoint.org.

We hope to see you at camp this summer!
